"Sonography experience"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Imaging

(as a service user),

I went with my husband for my 12 week scan today at princess royal maternity unit.

The sonographer doing the scan did not have a nice manner at all. They complained that taking measurements for the Down syndrome screening part of the scan are a “ nightmare “ especially as my baby was moving about quite a lot.

They were abrupt and made me feel like it was an annoyance doing it more than anything.  The weather today was terrible and a weather warning in place. I can totally understand that staff were probably worried about getting home but myself and my husband tried our very best not to miss the appointment as well.

Dear Maclowskixx

Thank you for sharing your experience on Care Opinion.

All patients attending the department should feel that they are treated with dignity and respect and I am sorry that this was not your experience on this occasion. If you would like to share your details with me I will arrange for your concerns to be followed through by the local manager. You can contact me directly at Pamela.mcgoldrick@ggc.scot.nhs.uk and I can advise on what additional information is required.

Best wishes

Pam
