"Helped to ease my anxieties"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as the patient),

I was admitted as an emergency via my GP due to a particularly aggressive asthma attack. I was treated with the very best of care by all nurses and Doctor who assessed and treated me.

I and my Husband particularly wish to thank Nurse Buchan.

Firstly for his deft skills in getting blood from someone with particularly difficult veins on his first attempt.

Importantly he helped to ease my/husbands anxieties - with obvious breathing difficulties - with an excellent bed-side manner. He used appropriate balance of empathy and good humour to help settle me - preparing me for  at least an overnight  stay for appropriate treatment  and observation. A breath of fresh air-much appreciated. A+++++ :)

My stay throughout was very professional from admittance to discharge & Chest/Kidney X-Ray procedures during my stay under extreme conditions due to red weather warnings.

Dear Henderson2207

Thank you so much for taking the time to post on Care Opinion. It sounds like you had a very scary experience and I am delighted to hear that you felt so well looked after during this time. I know Nurse Buchan will be very happy to know that he played such an important role during your treatment; I will ensure both he and the team are made aware of your comments.

Wishing you all the best in your recovery

Kind Regards

Kirsty

Kirsty -Thank you for such a prompt and genuine reply. It's always easy to criticise but I feel it important to praise such high standards of care - this has obviously been taken into account and I am happy that appropriate follow up actions will be taken.

Kindest regards
