"Waiting for appointment at pain clinic"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Neurology

(as a service user),

I was referred to the Pain Clinic in late 2017 and finally got an appointment for a few days time but this has been cancelled because of snow. I’ve been given an appointment over 7 weeks away - I live with chronic pain every day but I now have to wait another 7 weeks for an appointment.

I accept they can’t control weather but a further 7 weeks in pain is a long time to wait.

Dear Weegieman57,

I am very sorry to learn that you have been affected by the disruption to outpatient services in NHS Forth Valley as a result of the severe weather conditions on Wednesday 28 February. In order to discuss your concerns regarding the rescheduling of your appointment I ask if you could contact the Clinical Nurse Manager for the Pain Management Team directly at Dianne.hagart@nhs.net

kind regards,

Dianne Hagart
