Today i visited Ormskirk Hospital Pain Management Clinic to receive treatment from a consultant on The Maxillofacial Unit found on the hospitals 3rd floor.
In total this will be approximately my sixth or seventh time i have had this treatment over the past three years or so, a treatment which i find to be a major help with my pain control due to me suffering from Arthritis of the spine which causes me a great deal of discomfort daily but the treatment i am given (Cold Treatment) when probes are placed in between the ribs through my back and reduced to - 70 degrees which creates a block of Ice therefore creating a Pain Block, a treatment which is carried out every three to four months.
I have to say that the consultant and his team of Nurses always make me feel relaxed and put me at ease even though i have been on a few occasions there is always that nagging doubt in the back of your mind that because of the following procedure it could be painful but luckily again today everything went to plan for which i have the consultant and his Team to thank.
I am most grateful to this consultant for his skill and expertise in the pain clinic treatment that he carries out, even though i take quite a large amount of medication for pain relief this Cold Treatment i find helps enormously like i say for this i am most grateful.
Regards Roy Webster.
