What I liked
The nurses who performed the tests I was sent for were brilliant, helpful and considerate.
What could be improved
Principally the appalling attitude of the consultant I saw as well as the communications and appointment process from the unit.
Anything else?
I was referred for tests by my GP, my entire experience (baring the testing undertaken by the nurses) was marked by a dismissive, uncommunicative and high handed approach by the consultant and a complete failure to communicate what was happening by the administration. I had to chase the unit on every occasion to find the results of tests and what the next stage - if any - should be in appointments and treatment.
The consultant was quite clearly uninterested and have suggested at every point that despite being referred after a considerable period of poor health that I had self referred on baseless concerns. I would not elect to use this hospital again for gastroenterology.
"Shambolic and highhanded treatment."
