"Told he should have stayed at home"

About: Devon PCT

(as a relative),

A gentleman of 80 reported as an emergency to Sidmouth Health Centre with severe visual disturbances. The receptionist told him he should have stayed at home, phoned the surgery and the duty doctor would call him back. As he was at the surgery he could wait and be seen after the emergencies. They then asked if he was sure he didn't have an eyelash in his eye.

Dear ‘shocked’

Many thanks for your feedback, may I apologise that you did not receive an adequate level of care. I will feed back your experience to your practice.

Apologies again,

Kind regards

Suzanna
