On the 17th January 2018 my wife was taken by ambulance in to Thomas Ward where it was discovered she had dislocated her shoulder and broken an adjoining bone.
I visited her the same evening but when walking out I was approaching the exit barriers toward Millers Road when I tripped and fell heavily cutting and damaging my head. I was extremely fortunate that a passing nurse immediately came to my aid and I will never forget the brilliant way she dealt with me. I was amazed when a wheel chair quickly arrived and I was wheeled back into the A & E department.
I would have liked to thank her personally.
She was wonderful and was a great credit to your hospital.
I also received wonderful caring treatment from your A & E staff from arrival through a CT scan and then having the wound stitched.
I would also add that my wife received excellent treatment in Thomas Ward and after the operation on the 19th January is now home and slowly recovering.
The Press seem to enjoy running the NHS down so it gives me great pleasure in being able to write this congratulatory note to you. This particular nurse and other members of your hospital should feel rightly proud of themselves.
"Sincere thanks for memorable treatment in A&E &..."
