"Time kept in casualty"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Had been unwell and had a head injury, woke up in resus after a few hours got taken to a cubicle in the A n E department. Was told that i had to stay in for observation as my head injury and my memory of the incident wasnt good. A doctor had came to see me a few times and said things were getting slightly better but as i was still poorly i would be getting kept in and put up to a ward soon. Around 10 hours had gone by and my mum came into visit me thinking i was in a ward but still hadnt been taken to one! When mum got there she asked about the situation and i was supposed to get admitted to a ward but due to them being busy i was to stay over night in a casualty cubicle. After being in a bed in casualty for 15 hours i was then told by my doctor that i had to go home as there were no beds for me up in a ward so it was best i went home to rest so that there was space for someone else in A n E. Dont get me wrong they were very busy and limited staff were on shift but this is shocking as the beds arent the comfiest and it was very busy and got no rest at all.
