Mother under investigation for stroke and had MRI scan in March. Called today to find out when she would get her appointment for the results and she was told she was struck off the list as she never attended her appointment on April the 19th!

They say they sent a letter which she never received and now we have to do all the calling round.

I suggested to the hospital that it was easier to call and make appoitments where I was told its not easier but they said they couldnt tell me what day the letter was sent to her yet they just reply on the post to get it to you which is not 100% and cant just assume you have the letter.

Why do they not call you a day before to make sure you are attending?

What a waste of NHS appointments when people do not turn up as they have no idea they have an appointment.

I am now having to call the doctors secretary to see if they actually want to see her for the results but I put it to the lady on the phone if an appointment was made then surely they would want to see her otherwise that is a waste of NHS time!

It is a joke that in 2011 you rely on the post to get things to people when we all have phones faxes and emails!

Now waiting for the secretary to call me back but there is no chance of an appoitment and no wonder Queens has a bad reputation.
