I have been waiting over 17 weeks for an appointment for my daughters tonsillectomy she has severe sleep apnea and is struggling sleeping on a night due to night terrors which is affecting her school work now as she is exhausted.
I phoned over a month ago and was advised that as she would need an overnight bed she would be waiting longer as they were doing the operations on people lower on the list than her that didn't need a bed how can this be that she I pushed down the list. I know that beds are hard to get and I know the stress the NHS is going through at the moment more than a lot due to another family members cancer operation that was cancelled three times at this hospital.
Even if I had a date it would be ok so I could plan to it, but everytime I phone I am told no appointment has been made then transferred to ENT where the line goes dead then have to go back in the queue for it to happen again.
I am getting extremely frustrated as my daughter is suffering and have been told that the sleep apnea is due to her enlarged tonsils.
This was a referral from Airedale where they were very good and she was seen and dealt with very quickly.
