"Waiting to be discharged"

About: County Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a service user),

I was admitted on Tuesday thought it was asthma but they found out I had pneumonia. they staff were great I was admitted to amu ward were the staff were also very good and kind.

My problem was on Friday I was discharged at 11. 00 in the morning   and was still waiting in discharge lounge waiting for a certain dr to sign my letter so I could get my tablets to go home. My son came with my 8week old granddaughter to pic me up at 12 to which we were left waiting. The ladies in the lounge area we fantastic I just think that the Drs should deal and discharge patients one at a time. I am thing may be taking this further am seeking advice

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our hospital. It is disappointing to read that your discharge experience was so poor. Our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) will be more than happy to support with looking further into this issue. You can contact PALS on 01782 676450 or via email to patientadvice@uhnm.nhs.uk.

With best wishes

Rebecca Pilling, Quality Improvement Facilitator: Patient Experience.
