"NOT GOOD"

About: Abingdon Community Hospital

I visited 27th December, 2016; and agree with the lady who was given an appointment but had to wait a long time.

I too was given an appointment but had to wait, nearly, 3 hours before being seen.

I, recently, had to visit M.I.U.

Even though I'd already been assessed by the Ambulance Service, still, had to wait nearly 3 hours to be seen (the waiting room had hardly any patients in it); only to go through, exactly, the same assessment.

The most uncomfortable part of the visit, though, was that I, somehow, felt as if I was being interrogated about my injury.

Every time I answered a question, the Medical Practitioner turned her nose up and pulled a face (I, obviously, wasn't giving the "right" answers).

A very strange, somewhat unnerving experience.

I've had to enter "don't know" below (where it's asked which department was visited), as the Minor Injuries Unit isn't listed!

Dear Anon,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback around your experience of visiting Abingdon MIU in December 2016.

I am sorry to read that you had a long wait to be seen and the poor staff attitude you were met with when you were being examined.

Please be assured I will share your feedback with the manager of the service and if you wish to discuss anything in more detail please do call PALS (Patient Advice & Liaison Service) on 0800 328 7971.

With best wishes

Sarah Woods

PALS Officer
