I recently attended the vascular imaging unit to have the artery in my leg cleaned out.
From the moment I arrived until I left, the staff were absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them.
I am very squeamish so asked if I could be sedated as the procedure is done under local anaesthetic. Unfortunately this wasn't possible but the nurses were talking to me all the time to take my mind off what was happening. As for the procedure itself, it's much worse at the dentist so I wouldn't have any qualms about having the same done again.
When I was brought back into the ward to recover, again the nurses were so attentive and caring. Once I was allowed to sit up, I given a light lunch of sandwiches, fruit and yoghurt and never ending cups of tea.
From start to finish the care and attention shown to me was second to none. Please pass on my sincere thanks to all the staff involved in my care.
