What I liked

In fact I was not the patient but my daughter was she had her first baby here, I was fortunate to be at the birth of my first grandchild and I would like to thank the midwives who made the experience so special and because of her expertise and calm approach my son in law stayed for the birth and even cut the cord which up until then he was not sure he could do. In the Labour Ward , theatre staff and Post Natal ward every staff member who I came in contact with over those two days were professional, caring and an excellant example of what nursing care should be, their main concern was for the mother and baby, other relatives were welcomed during visiting time but if it was over visiting time you had to go, and they stuck to the rules of the ward no matter who you were or what you said. I have worked in the NHS for 18 years and have first hand knowledge of how the NHS is today and know that unfortunately this is not always the case in other hospitals. I would like to thank all the staff including the admin staff for their help in making my daughters experience of having her first baby a happy one and I would recommend that other Trusts that are suffering with their standards of care visit this hospital they could learn a thing or two.
