"Inguinal hernia and mesh"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

After this repair was initially undertaken at a different hospital on the 1/12/17 Pilgrim completed the repair yesterday 22/2/18. The quality of care was excellent.

I had made four separate visists to the previous hospital complaining of excessive post surgical repair pain. I was examined twice by the lead consultant, once by a member of the surgical team.At no point during these visits was any admission of any error contemplated or a scan suggested.

At a routine visit to my GP I encountered a reaction to the hernia culminating in an ambulance trip to Pilgrim A&E. I was examined and diagnosed with an hernia. An overnight stay was arranged. The following day I was examined by a consultant who confirmed the previous diagnosis. In spite of an extremely busy schedule I was booked for a scan and a

subsequent operation slot for yesterday all within a two week time frame. It is worth mentioning the other hospital offered a scan later this month post my op.

Much adverse criticism is levied at Pilgrim I have nothing but praise.
