"This has to be the best hospital I have..."

About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

What I liked

Truly excellent service at all stages of maternity care for my wife. Our second child has just been born at St Thomas' - our first was at King's. Although the ante natal and clinical care at King's was first rate, the post natal care (after a C section) left a lot to be desired, so we were prepared for the worst with our second. We need not have worried. Facilities are first class. However, what sets it apart from everywhere else is the attitude of the staff in the Birth Centre and the post natal ward. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We could also see how they dealt with other patients and the emphasis seemed to be on all patients going home once they were ready, and not as soon as possible. The care my wife and newborn son received here were extraordinary and above and beyond what we could ever have expected. Well done!

What could be improved

Nothing. Perhaps the discharge time (we were not discharged until 6pm) but this is because the attitude of the staff is that you should go home when you are ready - which is absolutely correct and admirable. We were not let go until we had been given all relevant information and our son had received his MOT. I am not sure I can say it enough but we had fantastic service from a marvelous hospital and excellent staff.
