"Care was good but cleanliness could be improved"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Ear, nose and throat

(as the patient),

Was admitted to FVRH after being referred to ENT via A&E by my GP.

A&E staff excellent. Mr Handa excellent care and follow up. Ward B31 staff nurse Hannah  made my stay comfortable and I felt confident in her care.

Felt night shift staff were stretched didn't see anyone from 7pm to 11pm. Other staff changed a lot. Bed 27 bathroom had not been cleaned when I was admitted.  Doesn't seem to be enough cleaning staff to keep cleaning up to standard. Few snagging maintenance issues required to keep up standard of hospital.

Food very good but a hit or a miss when water was refilled and tea came.

All in all I am vety grateful to the excellent service provided at FVRH.

Dear Sharrie

Thank you for taking time to give your feedback about the facilities services at FVRH – ward housekeeping, domestic, catering and estates.

I was sorry to hear that the standard of cleanliness and maintenance was not to the high standard that we would expect. Our domestics, housekeepers and estates teams take great pride in their areas. I have shared your feedback with the team on ward B31 and the internal Service Managers who will use your feedback to improve the service delivered.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, I am pleased that the overall service was excellent and I hope you are recovering well.

Dear Sharrie

Thank you for taking the time to recognise good care within Ward B31. I am sorry that you experienced a lull between day shift and night shift and I will feed this back to the team.

We have changed our Maintenance checks from fortnightly to weekly to ensure the ward environment is of sufficient standard.

We take great pride in patient care and feedback.

Kind Regards

Donna Calder

Senior Charge Nurse
