"Apathetic moody nurses on a and e"

About: The Royal London Hospital / Accident and emergency

Was told by 111 to go to urgent care unit which didn’t seem to exist so helpful receptionists told me to wait in a and e when I explained I don’t have a doctor. First consultation nurse was apathetic uncaring and close to rude telling me shouldn’t be there for the large lump in my breast 9 months after I had various symptoms and history in the immediate family. I explained I simply followed instructions she moodily told me I’ll have a long wait. There was only three people in the waiting area. I went to reception to check I should be there and they were pleasant and told me to sit back down. I waited half hour and checked with the consultation nurse who seemed hugely irritated by my presence and said I’d missed my name being called. I apologised and explained but just got a scowl. Half an hour later I was called in and apologied for not hearing my name and she told me off for not being there repeating heself it was very odd. She was as very negative about 111 told me to here’s no point in examining me and told me to go to a doctor. She had no empathy was not very nice told me off and I got the feeling they had both been bitching about me frankly. Well I did go to the doctors and there maybe a problem. My experience put me in a very bad place. Perhaps they were over worked but just a kind smile and understanding may have meant my day wouldn’t have gone as bad as it did.
