"My life has completely changed."

About: NHS Bolton CCG

(as the patient),

Breightmet Health Centre - Lifestyle Management Programme

Having been diagnosed at the age of 62, there seems to be very little help.

My GP was most unhelpful and plainly does not take on board my illness. Even after I Iost my job. Having sent me for blood tests, all came back negative, it was quite plain to me that they did not seem to think this was a problem. Meanwhile my life has completely changed. The list of symptoms would be too long to write down, not only physical but mental as well. The latest advice from my GP is to join a gym. I was seen at the local ME clinic for a short course, the nurse was very good; it consisted of 10 x 1 hour sessions on learning how to live with the effects of this illness.

Would have liked to have been given the name of a GP in my area who has taken the time and effort to find out about this illness. But will have to continue with a GP who appears neither sympathetic nor knowledgeable.
