"Still waiting"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Women's outpatient clinics and investigations

(as a service user),

I have a family history of cancer, my mum treated for overall cancer and died with lung cancer, sister had overall and breast cancer and both breast removed.

I have been on holiday to my country overseas for 2 weeks over 4 months ago and intended to get checked up. I had a lot of pain and unusual bleeding other than normal period and they found out that I do have unusual growing which may need to be taken out. At the same time I had mammography which was clear but there was some white spots, it was suggested to go for ultrasonography.

By then I am back, I received a letter for another cervical smear test which was clear but this test does not cover the problem I have been diagnosed with and does not look for the same problem areas but at GP and in hospital I have been told that I should cancel this appointment because my cervical smear test was clear.

Recently I had managed to get an appointment for an ultrasound in Stirling and still waiting to be referred to what needs to be done after over 6 months and after twice attempt to make appointments at Larbert Forth Valley Hospital, couldn't get any service for breast ultrasonography.

I have been called 1. 30pm waited over 4 hours, there was no one left in the hospital, no one left in waiting room even when I was told that I will be the next I was still sitting down and waiting. They said I had a number but I didn't have that waiting number, not sure whom called and with which number was relevant! And when the hospital is empty with a friend at home, I had to leave the hospital.

Than second appointment was given in a week time, I have confirmed an hour before I went to hospital I will be attending to my appointment nobody said anything but when I arrived they said they have no staff, I had to call that day off sick from the work.

Also the doctor made a comment like “ you again”

When I asked if they don't have any staff, why wasn't confirmed with phone call and rebook an appointment! Answer they don't do that..

I asked for another hospital to attend next time..... I am still waiting.

It took me 2 days and 2 appointments to get these results overseas, where in Forth Valley I am still under investigation and need quite strong reason for checking for breast cancer under 50!

Do we not have any people in this country goes down with cancer under 50!

If I have a cancer I will be dead before I get diagnosed.
