"outstanding compassionate care"

About: West Cumberland Hospital

My lovely friend was looked after on the intensive care unit recieving end of life care. I would just like to express my thanks to the exceptional care she was given by the nurse caring for her.

She was compassionate and professional providing individualised care to not only my friend but her her whole unit of family and friends. I could see how much caring for my friend had affected her emotionally for over 3 days which must have been incredibly hard yet she prioritised the needs of her patient and delivered the best care she could provide. She is an example of a true nurse and hope that she knows she made a difference in an incredibly difficult time. I hope this feedback can be passed on to her. I'm sure my friends family will always be grateful to her as am I.

Please accept my condolences on your recent bereavement and thank-you for taking the time to pass on your comments at this difficult time. I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to the Matron for Intensive care to feedback to the nurses in the unit - I know that they will appreciate receiving this feedback as they work extremely hard to deliver the best possible care to patients and reassurance and support to their family and friends.
