"Absolutely disgusted"

About: Poole General Hospital / Accident and emergency

After an jogging accident down the beach slipping and falling with discolated shoulder severe cuts to head which happend at 1pm the shoulder wasn't taken care of until about 5 hours later which resulted in it being more difficult to put back in,after 2 lots of morphine and gas and air the administered ketamine and sedation to put the shoulder back, the severe cuts wasn't taken care of in A&E where it should of been done and stitched the next day around 3.30pm but the Dr said oh it's ok it won't need stitching then a nurse had a look and it was very deep needed washing out and 4 stitches. Also while waiting for my partner to have her shoulder put back in we got told to wait in a relatives room where there was a family who just had a relation died it was not fair or very respectful for them to have us put in that room where they want to grieve and cry without strangers in there. I am absolutely disgusted with the service and time frames in which Poole hospital deal with emergencies or even general wellbeing of patients. Things are not being told to doctors dealing with patients so every time a patient sees a new nurse or Dr you have to repeat the same thing over and over. You ask for a dressing change it takes over an hour or two complete joke.we are not happy my partner who had this fall is 65

I am very sorry to hear of your partner's accident and of your experience in the Emergency Department.

I have passed your comments on to the senior team in ED but if you would like us to look into what happened in more detail, please contact the Patient Experience Team.

You can do this by email at Patientexperienceteam@poole.nhs.uk or you can ring 01202 448499.

We will be only too glad to investigate what happened for you.

I hope your partner makes a speedy recovering from what sounds like a very nasty fall.

Kind regards,

Patient Experience Team, Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
