Firstly you have to get through a really long intro before taking place in a call que. Then a receptionist with no medical training dictates whether you need to speak to a doctor. If you are permitted you will get a call from a gp. Now every single time I have spoken or seen a GP here I have been left feeling like a paranoid parent or a time waster. My 7 month old son has a milk/lactose allergy. He’s been suffering with chronic constipation since 2 months of age. Now rather than referring us to a pediatrician to get to the bottom of his problem we got fobbed off with a repeat prescription of suppositories and LACTULOSE T W I C E yup they tried to give my son medicine which contained something he is allergic to... then today I rang as I have tonsillitis (I know when I have it the big pus spots and unable to swallow are a dead giveaway...) to be told by the doctor that “it is not tonsillitis and I can go and sit and wait to be seen, but I won’t receive treatment...” what sort of GP surgery is this?! I’m currently going through a health ombudsman as I feel completely let down by this surgery. I also suffer from PND and the way I have been treated is disgusting no help was offered, only drugs offered. He never spoke to me as though he was there to help me. I just felt like a number to him. I’m completely shocked by the whole surgery. I personally am looking to change doctors and would rather call 111 if I needed to than EVER go back there.
