What I liked
I went to the L&D a little while ago for a routine op. The treatment, respect and helpfulness of the staff who looked after me was exceptional, and I was especially well looked after once I'd come round from being knocked out.
What could be improved
Practically speaking? Nothing.
If I could have had a hospital with a sea view, a live lounge band and if Mrs Emma Peel from The Avengers had fed me fresh (not tinned) pineapple cubes on sterilised cocktail sticks during my convalescence, I may have been happier. That said, I was a bit ill, and may not have appreciated this experience as much as if I wasn't a bit ill. And, come to think of it, Mrs Peel would have lost some of my respect too.
In an ideal world, I'd've preferred for there not to have been so many sick people about either. But, hey.
Anything else?
If all hospitals hit the levels of excellence that the L&D did on my visit, I would be very happy and confident that when I really get ill, that I will receive decent care.
