"Long wait for nothing - no information"

About: Woodland Hospital

'Consultation' lasted all of thirty seconds to confirm name, and the time to receive information leaflets.

It took two phone calls to receive the confirmation for the agreed procedure appointment, as confirmations for random dates were sent first.

I had an appointment for a procedure requiring nil-by-mouth, and I checked in early. One hour after the arranged time (and after questioning this) I was led to the treatment room, where I was informed by the nurse that there are technical problems and I could wait there or come back after a few hours, hoping they get it sorted by then - I am not one for keeping my fingers crossed.

If you can afford to take the day off and wait until they are ready for you - great, but I don't and will arrange to have the procedure done somewhere where my time is valued and I am being kept informed about all things concerning my treatment.

Please accept our sincere apologies for your experience, this is certainly not the level of service we wish to provide our patients here at Woodland Hospital.

We have since purchased new Endoscopy equipment, which should reduce the likelihood of cancellations.

If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please contact the Personal Assistant, to the Senior Leadership Team, on 01536 536846.

Feedback from our patients is invaluable in helping us improve our services and I would like to thank you once again for your comments. We are always looking for patients to be part of our Public and Patient Involvement Group, we are actively recruiting users of our service to help us shape patient services and provide us with a patient voice to support our on-going developments within the hospital. If this is something you would be interested in, please contact our Quality Improvement Team on 01536 536897 who would be happy to discuss any questions you may have further.

Kind regards

Woodland Hospital
