Wednesday evening to book on line There was only one appointment available that I could not make I tried again Thursday night for Fridays appointments none available tried Monday none available Tried Tuesday none available tried Wednesday Guess what None available Wife phoned on Monday was told the earliest I could see a doctor was the 20th March

As you mentioned you were offered an urgent same day appointment on your first contact with the practice, which you could not take.

If a problem is urgent and needs same day assessment we would always provide contact with a clinician at the practice that day, as in your case.

Unfortunately we cannot always provide an appointment urgently at a specific time as we are extremely busy, especially during this flu season.

As a general rule if a problem is urgent you will be offered a same day appointment and if the problem is not urgent you will be offered a routine appointment.

You can usually get a routine appointment with a GP within 2 weeks currently which is good, compared to many practices, considering the demands on services.

Unfortunately the NHS is not resourced to always provide specific appointment times with specific GPs.
