"Parking"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute)

My daughter aged 17 was admitted to an adult ward having been given the choice of an adult or children's ward. She was in the hospital for 6 days. During this time I have spent £60 on parking, £10 a day! It is not acceptable that the charges are so high when you have to be there all day for so many days. Had she gone to children's ward I would have received reduced parking @ £3.20 per day. If you need to be there all day with an under 18 then this subsidy should apply no matter where you are placed in the hospital. We live 13 miles from the hospital and public transport was not an option. Shame in you!

We are sorry to hear that your daughter has been unwell and we hope she is making a good recovery.

There are weekly car parking concessions available for long stay patients and their families and we are sorry you were not made aware of this.

If you would like to discuss this further please contact our Travel Office on 01604 545966.

Kind regards, NGH.
