Dear Southmead Hospital ,
I recently had surgery all went well from the start to finish
I would like to thank pre op staff , theatre staff , surgeon and team, porters , cleaners, nursing team
Physio , OT , radiographers , catering . Also all the unseen staff the work to make the operation opratioanl .
My only complaint is the pictures on AOC ward 26 , may be inspiring a very small group of people from the achievement anthletic third age generation.
However most are grimacing , you could say working the though their pain.
From a perpective of someone that has pain getting up getting dress getting moving and making it though the day though many pain hurdles .
Is an achievement with someone who experances long term pain.
THESE pictures are inappropriate for recovery from surgery as it project a unrealistic imagery at night haunting in nature . When patient feel that they need to hang up clothing to cover the unstighly picture, staff had said that they did not like them . After this has been feedback to Fresh art this has been ignored .
So here my patient feedback these pictures are insenseative to people with pain and disabilities I find them offensive .
Please remove these picture maybe children's drawing or picture of wonderful views to inspire those who do not move so fast in society but want be part of outdoor inclusive environment .
Being mindful , patient engage would of been more approate when hanging picture that do not reflect the views experances .
This is something Freshart or Southmead could change very quickly to aid patients recovery.
"Thank you for care and please change the..."
