About: St Leonards Practice

I am a man, recently through the 60 barrier, and with a history of such good health that Jan-Feb 2018 is the first occasion I have really needed my GP in 20 years. A double hit of flu and then an Urinary Tract Infection would not clear up, and I had continuous mild discomfort, interupted work and nights, and weight loss. I was so impressed with the well organised and co-ordinated approach with which the practice doctors, nurses and admin staff worked together and with me. A range of tests and scans and other inquiries was deployed, all shared with me when I called AND in calls and letters to me. The P word (Prostate) was introduced (and checked) in a sensitive manner. My GP active in establishing the situation quickly, at times in direct conversation with the test labs etc. This was joined up medicine from a joined up Practice team, identifying the actual problem (Prostatisis) and reducing symptoms within a few days. Review booked in three weeks time, to check the matter is closed. I know I am on the road to recovery. More importantly, I am really pleased to be under this practice as the years advance and I might anticipate other 'treats' due the natural process of aging.
