I as admitted with a suspected heart attack to ward 15 then to CCU.
I can not fault the care I received when in for 3 days. The nurses were very attentive and caring and there was an atmosphere of support and respect own the wards- this led to me feeling as relaxed as I could in my situation and I felt very cared for. The cardiology consultant spoke to me in terms I could understand and reassured me as to what would happen. The cardiology and catheterisation lab staff were again very supportive and caring. Special mention should go to nurse Liz who went out of her way to help to chat to my daughter in London on the phone - my daughter was understandably very distraught as she had received a similar call 16 months ago to inform her of her father's sudden death from a cardiac cause. Liz completely settled my daughter - this is quite a skill to possess. Thanks also to Sue, Christine and other staff who's names I can't remember. The junior cardiologist seemed to go out of her way to check up on how I was progressing and had a very caring manner.
The cups of good tea were very appreciated. The only down side to my whole visit was the bland and unappetising food.
"I cannot fault the care"
