I spent 5 hours in A&E yesterday with chest pain. While most of the staff look overworked I can't fault them. It was very busy and I'm guessing it's been like that for a while now. The receptionist wasn't a great start but soon i went for triage and was seen buy very efficient and right to the point person. Then I was seen by a nurse who took my blood and did my ECG. Quiet but again efficient. After that it was 4 hours wait. At 1am I was finally called to see a dr and the encounter exceeded my expectation. The Dr first joked with me to put me at ease, asked me a lot of questions about how i felt before moving onto the file in his computer. He was very thorough and explained everything to me in a way i could understand. Then ordered chest X-ray and instructed me what to say and expect from my gp as a follow up. It turned out my chest pain was not very serious but i felt well looked after and reassured upon leaving the A&E. Thank you Dr you were really great and thank you to everyone else who worked so hard that night. You deserve be recognised for what you do.
"Excellent Dr care"
