About: Ealing IAPT

(as a service user),

I was referred to the IAPT service because I was suffering from social anxiety and depressive episodes.

I was assigned a excellent CBT therapist that worked with me over a six month period.

We systematically broke down the thoughts and beliefs around my social anxiety, we planned gradually increasing my tolerance to social situations that caused me great difficulty. We steadily pushed up through the difficulty, I was able to move on with my life in ways that were unimaginable to me at the beginning of therapy.

I faced my fears with the support of the service and my life has completely changed from when I started seeking help. I would  encourage others to commit to changing their life for the better with the help of this great service.

Dear "Inspired"

Thank you for posting on Care Opinion. We were delighted to hear about your experience of the service and how it has changed your life. We know that this doesn't happen without putting in a huge effort and working hard on dismantling the unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that have kept you stuck. People often find that they can manage difficulties in small graded steps and that those things that did feel unimaginable at the beginning start to seem a bit more achievable with the help and support of their clinician.

Congratulations on your achievements and thank you for your encouraging words to others who will read this and hopefully take steps to seek assistance.

On behalf of Ealing IAPT our very best wishes for the future.

Dr Louise De Haro, Clinical Psychologist

Deputy Clinical Lead Ealing IAPT
