"Ambulance crew quickly put her mind at rest"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

I attended A&E on Sunday with my elderly mother in law, who called 999 because she and her friend thought she was having a stroke.  the ambulance crew who brought her in ( around 11am ) were absolutely wonderful with her, and quickly put her mind at rest that it wasn't a stoke.  she was brought into A&E and saw Dr Olverman and his team, who were all amazing with her, and nothing was any trouble.  Yes we know she didn't need an ambulance it was just a minor ailment as it turns out, but the team didn't in any way make her feel bad for phoning the ambulance, they were all courteous and looked after her very well.

can I just say thank you to Dr Olverman and his nurses who were on shift between 11 and 3, and also the ambulance team as well.,  you are all amazing and in my opinion you don't get enough praise or wages for what you all do.

Thank you

Hi Lizy,

Thank you for sharing your mother-in-laws experience on Care Opinion. It must have been a very worrying time for her and her friend and I am just very glad to read that it was just, as you say a minor ailment and not a stroke.

It is very good to read that our staff and our partners in NHS Scotland have treated your mother-in-law with the care and dignity everyone deserves and this seems to have helped her in her situation.

I would be more than happy to pass these kind words onto the crew involved and if you would like to do so can you send an email to me at scotamb.corporateaffairs@nhs.net. If you let me know your mother-in-laws name, the address where we attended and a date and rough time.

I would like to thank you again for taking the time to write this and wish you and your mother-in-law all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
