"Post natal care"

About: Gilbert Bain Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

After having my first c section, I was discharged from hospital. But had to chase up my own post natal care more than once.

I felt let down, forgotten and like I didn’t matter. In the week after coming home I only had one home visit. Then a final one the next week to discharge me.

I am very sorry to hear this feedback. We recognise that post-natal care is important and mothers may need different levels of support depending on their own and their babies clinical condition.

I would be keen for us to hear more from you directly about your experience and if you are happy to discuss this in more detail I would ask that you contact us either through our generic information box - shet-hb.information@nhs.net or on 01595 743069.

Thank you for providing this feedback

with best wishes
