Having been referred to Goring Hall Hospital as an NHS patient for a Day Surgery procedure, I was firstly astonished by the lack of a welcome, I was kept waiting ages in the main reception area, which was rather shabby for a private hospital, but I was more disgusted by the dozens and dozens of dead flies trapped immediately overhead in the roof blinds, which have clearly been there for months, and not only this, I was eventually collected by a rather abrupt and unfriendly Heath Care Assistant, who ignored my polite request for privacy and proceeded to weigh and take my height in a narrow corridor with other patients trying to squeeze by.
I was then taken into a tiny room located in what is best described as a "portakabin", which was chaotic and claustrophobic, and I consequently declined my pre-op assessment.
I asked to speak with a senior member of staff, but alas, nobody was available to speak with me as they were all in meetings !
I am astonished and aggrieved by this awful experience, and I await the promised call from the Director - Tom Glynn
