"surgery great aftercare a shambles"

About: Royal Papworth Hospital (Papworth Everard)

When my husband arrive din critical after surgery he was left with a newly qualified nurse who clearly didnt know what she was doing, he was left under sedation far too long for anyone much less a man with a brain injury, it was'nt noticed that his core temperature was dropping, his potassium shots were sprayed everywhere meaning he didnt receive the full dosage, when they insisted he be put in a wheel chair his external pacemaker machine dropped to the floor and smashed blood spurting every as tubes came loose and my husband virtually passed out caused a doctor attending another patient to rush over and put things right.

Then later when transferring to a ward they pulled out his urinary catheter causing blood and urine to flow onto new and clean bed. When i visited two days later there were blood stains on his sheets. There are numerous other incidents that have taken place and i have made an official complaint to PALS.

This is Papworths centenary year, and its going down the pan along with all the other nhs hospitals in this country. The excellent surgeons work is being undone by hapless and reckless staff who do not seem bothered in care and compassion, something papworth has always be reknown for and is now sadly lacking ! we know this from experience, hubby had similar op in 2015 and it was an amazing, caring and respectful week in hospital, well above 5 star rating, now, Feb 2018 and i wouldnt even give it a 1
