Arriving anxiously, I was soon put at ease by the " check in nurse"
She was amazing and involved me totally. A pre op visit from the anaesthetist and surgeon both helped reassure me. The staff on Cedar ward worked well as a team. Pain relief offered regularly , thus leading to virtual pain free post surgery, which somewhat surprised me. A big shout out to the Physios who are attached to Cedar Ward. What an amazing job they do..... Even when patients pass out on them due to low blood pressure.
A couple of concerns though. My meal order was not taken one day, the HCA said she would come back to me and didn't, resulting in a miss mash of whatever was left.
Another day I got completely what I had not ordered.
Also I was in a side room with an en-suite, ( lovely) so imagine the shock when the same HCA arrived in my room with a patient, asking if it was ok to use my toilet......(erm what about cross infection?)
Finally on my day of discharge the Staff Nurse told me some of my own medication had been lost/ mislaid/ used.......... so I came home having to put a repeat request into my GP, costing me more money.
