About: Frenchay Hospital

What I liked

My son attended the ED department on busy hot saturday afternoon the department wa busy.

My son had a suspected dislocation of his shoulder. After aprox 25mins he was given oral painkillers by a helpful and caring matron.

He was then called to be reviewed by a physiotherapist. She was both professional and caring treated my son as an individual and thoroughly examined him. Having excluded a dislocation and reassuring him she gave him guidance about ongoing exercises.

We were on our way back home having been seen and treated within 50 mins.

What could be improved

I would have liked an assessment of my sons pain as he came into the department as he was extremely distressed.

Anything else?

Thank you for caring for and treating my son in such an efficient way.

Dear Anonymous - thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your visit to Frenchay Hospital. I am pleased that overall you and your son had a very positive experience.

I have noted your comments about early pain assessment and this will be fed back to the department to aid their learning, along with your thanks.

Kind Regards – Steve Sykes
