"Appalling"

About: Good Hope Hospital

On 18th frb 2018 my daughter was told to take my grandaduggter by warren farm walkin as her pulse was 230 . Arriving at hospital the staff were very worried and rushed her off to do obs etc. Cant complain about the nursesat all.

Waa taken up to the harvey ward with no cot for my grandaughter she is only 9 weeks old. After an hour a doctor came didnt say what was wrong only thing really said was " take her home no need to stay in a DIRTY hospital to catch more germs". This was from a doctor. What the hell i cant believe a doctor would say something like this we all know hospitals are horrid places but a doctor saying dirty hospital tells you alot. At end of day the patient is more important!!!!!!!!

Dear Relative,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your granddaughter’s admission to Good Hope Hospital on 18 February 2018.

I am sorry to have read your comments and how appalled you were with the doctors comments.

I appreciate your daughter would have been very worried about her baby girl and the doctor’s response would not have given her the reassurance that she needed.

If you would be willing to provide further details such as your granddaughter’s name, address, date of birth and a contact number for you, as a Trust, we would welcome the opportunity to look into this matter further.

You can do this by contacting a member of the Patient Services Team on 0121 424 0808 or you can email your concerns to bhs-tr.Complaints-ConcernsandCompliments@nhs.net who can then take the necessary action.

If you do contact our team, can I please ask you to advise the member of staff that you are responding to your NHS Choices Posting.

I will forward your posting to the senior management team for the Paediatric Services for the Trust, so that they are aware of your comments.

In addition, I will forward your posting to the A&E Department, so they aware of your positive comments regarding the nursing staff.

Yours faithfully

Miss J. Langham

Patient Services Officer
