My 71 year old mum visited the GP and was told to pack a bag and go to A & E. luckily I got there in time to go through th experience with her. From the moment of the nurse taking her obs and running through the details a medic doctor was there in hand - I didn't catch his name but he was an FY1 doctor and was brilliant with my mum every step of the way. Mum was put into resus where the nurse there was quite sharp and offhand the fact that me mum and my stepdad were walking through but this was the only negative. Mum was then transferred to the main cubicles in A & E where the doctor continued to care for mum , he contacted a specialist chest doctor and a very nice consultant. Mum has COPD and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I would like to thank most sincerely the first nurse taking details and the amazing FY1 doctor, the consultant and all the staff who tended to mum in the main A & E cubicles, your kindness care and compassion was very much appreciated and you all deserve a pat on the back YOU WERE AMAZING.
"Thank you"
