"Day Surgery"

About: Royal Preston Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

16th February 2018.

I arrived at RPH on time for surgery to a broken left humerus.

I was in a lot of pain and feeling low.

I was met with efficient and helpful staff.

From reception to nurses to anaesthetist to surgeons.

Everyone explained what would be happening and tried their best to make me feel comfortable.

It worked.

In aftercare I felt a bit weepy but, again, the staff were wonderful, caring and treated me with dignity.

The surgeons made a point of reassuring me that the operation had been successful.

The physios came to see me and explained how important exercises would to regain full mobility and they would make sure I received appointments through the post.

I have now regained total confidence that I will make a full recovery.

Teamwork at its best.

Thank you so much.

Thanks for letting us know about this, it truly is a pleasure to read.

It's the small incidental things from staff that mean such a lot when we're feeling low or anxious.

We will pass your kind comments on to the Orthopaedics team who will be very touched.
