"poor and getting worse by the minute."

About: Devizes NHS Treatment Centre

What I liked

The pre-op visit was superb and the operation/proceedure on the cataract went very well. There are problems needed to be addresses with the after care as the eye got an infection and the white blood cells fighting the infection caused a great number of floaters (like trying to look through tadpole spawn). Having rung the hospital for advise we were told this was 'normal' and it would clear. Two weeks later, at the opticians six week check up it was found to be infected. The optician managed to ring the hospital and was told to send the patient home and they would ring. That did not happen and when we rang we were finally given a new number for a customer care person whose phone goes to voicemail. Not a great system of after care.

What could be improved

Get people to ring back when they say they will and make sure phone calls are listened to and the person taking the call is qualified to advise patients on what is normal and what needs more urgent care.

Anything else?

While writing this we still have not received a return call. Very poor service.
