"Operation for Mortons Neuroma"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I felt looked after, although I was concerned when asked if I had wrist name tag on, when I hadn't!!  Staff were however very pleasant and explained how to put on robe etc.  Anaesthetic nurse very supportive and I was grateful for her reassurance.  Also Anaesthetist easy to talk to.

Everything went smoothly, surgeon very professional.  Final recovery my blood pressure dipped and this was monitored.  Nurse very caring, helping me to get dressed as very dizzy.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Rodgerson,

Thank you so much for sharing this with us on Care Opinion. it is lovely to hear how well it all went and that the staff were so helpful and supportive. I believe that a Morton's Neuroma is a painful thing to have, so I bet you're happy to have the operation over and done with now.

I will pass your comments to the team, it will brighten up this not-so-sunny Monday.

Best wishes for your onward recovery,

Eunice

Update posted by Rodgerson (the patient)

On the downside, didn't think patient after care info sheet was comprehensive enough eg didn't say if foot should be elevated, for how long, or what happens after stitches out. Don't see surgeon for 8 weeks, and dont know what to do in interim. Saw our practice nurse for stitches, but she had never dealt with Mortons Neuroma so couldn't advise.
