What I liked
I have found the Breast Care Clinic to be excellent over the many years of going there. The consultant and their team are wonderful. The breast care nurse, was very quick to respond to my queries. In the X-Ray/Imaging dept, the consultant and their team are also really excellent and caring and I have only the highest praise for them.
What could be improved
I have no complaints for what is a terrific service, under the circumstance.
One small niggle is my observation that the paperwork is not really terribly well organised - my file was missing more often than not over the years, and the online data wasn't always available. That would lead to a sense of anxiety that not all the facts were joined up about my case and an occasional crisis of doubt that they had the right results.
Also - correspondence between the specialist and my doctor took up to six months (if it ever arrived) and I feel the feedback loop between specialist and GP could be much improved.
The staff all otherwise do a really brilliant job.
Anything else?
When you are ill it is both the very big and the very small things that matter. The big things include consideration, information, responsiveness, cleanliness and accuracy and I do feel that these have been provided over the years. I have never been in doubt that the first and most important wish of the hospital staff is to save my life/keep me healthy.
The less major things are ease of contacting people to make appts or change them; and a sense of continuity of staff and location for specialised units. These have been satisfactory.
