ON the 29th January 2018
I entered the A and E department with a temperature of 41.5.
I was in pain and felt very sick. As I was speaking the the receptionist explaining my situation, I was continually sick., and therefore he immediately supported me by arranging for the nurse to come and see me. I was taken straight through to the private cubicle of the A and E department. There were several nursing staff/doctors who commenced with taking tests, blood tests, chest x ray, sats etc supporting me with pain management and nausea. Due to low blood pressure I was taken to Resuss.
I received the required treatment of antibiotics and an infection in the lung was diagnosed. The support and treatment I received was second to none, I know that the
A and E department receive a lot of negative feedback but I want to say a big thank you to all those that treated me on the 29th January. Had it not been for the quick response of care and treatment, I wonder whether I would be here today. I was moved to Pevensey Ward where tests continued to take place.
Also not to forget the excellent staff in Pevensey Ward/Day unit including the Consultant and
Haematology Nurse, as a regular visit to both the ward and day unit, I wish to say a big thank you for the care and treatment that I receive on regular basis. The care and treatment provided is person centred and my needs are met in every way.
Nothing is too much trouble for these dedicated staff, often going up and beyond their duties. They are such kind caring staff and I feel privileged to be supported by such a great team.
A BIG THANK YOU
