"Staff worked as a very effective team..."

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

What I liked

I was given very good information throughout my patient journey which enabled me to make informed decisions. Details were thoroughly checked throughout to ensure that I received the best of care. The staff were very attentive and listened to any concerns that I may have.

The pre-op assessment clinic ran like clockwork and I didn't even have time to read my book between seeing various staff members.

What could be improved

I think that one area of improvement would be to provide wet wipes for patients to use if they need to use a commode by the bed side. The nurses were very attentive to their own handwashing, but patients also need to wash their hands after using the toilet. It is a very simple way of reducing infection risk particularly as there has been noro virus in the hospital.

Pleased to hear that you were given good information and were able to make informed decisions. We'll raise your suggestion with the senior nurse for that specialty and thanks for letting us know.
