Once you have an appointment, care is really good, but it’s virtually impossible to get in. Waste of time ringing, join the queue outside at 7.30am and then no guarantee. Even something as routine as a smear test, had to go on a waiting list and then they were only available on one day of the week at a specific time, made me months late to have my cervical health check. This surgery is on special measures which I thought was harsh as staff are lovely but they obviously can’t cope with demand. Didn’t want to jump on the band wagon and leave but today I think I have to research other surgeries in the area. My 19 year old daughter went to the walk in centre yesterday as no appointment available, diagnosis, kidney infection. Sent home to rest with antibiotics. Later condition worse, she fainted, sickness and temperature, call to 111, advises through various phone calls to nems ect cease taking antibiotics as possible reaction and see doctor next day. Receptionist didn’t have any appointments even though urgent and said she could book her with a nurse in Bestwood! So she is expected to catch public transport, feeling very poorly, struggling to stand with kidney infection and not with a doctor but with the nurse! I rang on my daughters behalf to say how unacceptable this is, she said she had nothing available not even for the doctor to ring us. She advised A&E or back to the walk in centre. Absolutely ridiculous. She is currently at A&E as I am writing this review.
