"Care, compassion, knowledge and kindness"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as a service user),

My son recently had a tonsillectomy following continuous painful tonsillitis over the past two years. From referral through consultation; to the unexpectedly early date of the operation and actual day of the tonsillectomy the care has been faultless and is certainly a reminder of the wonderful teams we have caring for our very precious loved ones within the NHS.

Our son was admitted to the ambulatory ward at QMC and the care we received from the ward/team was faultless throughout. We were welcomed, reassured and looked after from the moment we entered by the whole MDT on duty that day.

My son was immediately put at ease by the skills of an obviously very dedicated, compassionate & skilled team. We, as parents were put at ease by the regular, efficient and knowledgeable communication delivered to us throughout the procedure and post operatively including clear direction for care/treatment following discharge.

We would especially like to praise the nursing team on duty, staff nurse Hannah was amazing in her individualised care, compassion, knowledge and kindness for our son pre and post operatively and the reassuring presence of the deputy ward sister. Dr Daniel and anaesthestist were also calming, knowledgeable and fantastic! Thank you!

Our son is recovering well and we wanted to ensure that the well deserved thanks & praise are acknowledged for this obviously devoted and professional team.
