"ST Paul's Eye, A&E department."

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital / Ophthalmology

Excellent treatment.Told to call in asp when my GP rang about a suspected cateract.I expected a long wait but was triaged and examined in under three hours.I was told a appointment would follow.A week later I had a phone call telling me to come in to A&E, the staff wanted to be safe as their was no appointment date on my notes.I was examined, which was followed a more, detailed eye exam. Was given full information by the doctor and the choice of wether to have cateract surgery was left up to me.I think it is important to express my gratitude that I was placed on the waiting list.It has taken just one week (after noticing the problem) which is brilliant. The medical staff were understanding of my fears. To often we forget to mention the receptionist(who is the first person we meet on entering eye A&E) the person (on both visits) was kind and reassured me that that I would be looked after.I was highly impressed and have told all my friends that St Paul's is a fine example of good NHS practice.
