"GI visit"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

Visited the GI unit after an aggressive IBD flare up.

The nurses were fantastic.

Parking is a major challenge taking a good 20 minutes to find a spot. This leaves you running into the 30 minute window for the Parking Eye cameras so it will cost you £3.50 regardless to park. Of which one of the machines didn't work. Remember to keep your tickets as they may send you a bill even if you have paid, this has happened to me. After speaking to several staff it seems to be a major issue with them, visitors and patients like myself. So 5 stars for care, 0 Stars for parking and Parking Eye.

We are pleased you were happy with the care you received but sorry to read your comments about parking on the site. Unfortunately we have a limited amount of land on the site and do face challenges finding spaces for all visitors at peak times.

However, a parking attendant is on hand to assist with this and vehicles are given 30 minutes free of charge to enter and leave each individual car park (for example the main rear car park, the lower level of the multi-storey car park and the parking area to the front of the hospital) so visitors should not need to pay any tariffs while looking for a space.

We would urge anyone who feels they have received a Parking Charge Notices (PCNs) wrongly or unfairly to appeal straight away via the details on the notice. A thorough appeals process in place to waive PCNs in appropriate circumstances.
